At HALO Youth, we provide a structured, supportive environment designed to address the needs of formerly incarcerated youth. Our services focus on personal development, life skills, recovery, and reentry support. These include:
- Pre-Release Mentorship: Building relationships with incarcerated youth before release to ensure they have a strong foundation upon reentry.
- Individualized Reentry Plans: Developing personalized roadmaps for success that include housing, education, employment, and mental health resources.
- Job Readiness and Employment Support: Assisting with resumes, interview skills, and connections to felon-friendly employers who believe in second chances.
- Life Skills Training: Teaching budgeting, communication, conflict resolution, goal setting, and problem-solving strategies.
- Substance Use Recovery Support: Providing peer recovery coaching, support groups, and referrals to treatment programs.
- Education Assistance: Connecting youth with GED programs, vocational training, and higher education opportunities.

Engaging Activities & Community Building
- We establish relationships with youth while they are still incarcerated, providing mentorship, guidance, and a roadmap for their transition back into society.
- Our team facilitates group discussions, recovery coaching, and life skills training to prepare them for the outside world.
- We work with juvenile facilities to introduce positive role models, individuals who have successfully reintegrated and can share their lived experiences.
Post-Release Support
- Upon release, we help youth access essential resources, including housing, education, employment opportunities, and mental health support.
- We offer one-on-one mentorship and peer coaching to guide them through their reentry journey.
- We assist with obtaining vital documents like state IDs, birth certificates, and social security cards, ensuring they have the necessary paperwork to rebuild their lives.
- We help young people find felon-friendly employers who believe in second chances and are willing to provide stable jobs.
Engaging Activities & Community Building
- We organize activities such as outdoor excursions, team-building exercises, and creative workshops to foster personal growth and build positive relationships.
- By engaging in meaningful experiences, youth develop self-confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging.
- Some of our past activities have included hiking trips, sports tournaments, art and music therapy, and volunteer opportunities, all designed to encourage teamwork and self-expression.
Why We Do It
Halo Youth was founded on the principles of lived experience. Our team understands the struggles of incarceration, addiction, and reentry because we've been there. We believe in second chances because we’ve lived them. By providing support, mentorship, and opportunities for transformation, we help young people break cycles of incarceration and build lives they are proud of.
Too often, society writes off incarcerated youth before they ever get a real chance. We refuse to accept that narrative. These young people are not lost causes; they are future leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and change-makers. They just need someone to believe in them—and we do.
